Boerderij - Advice systems for three new providers

Sensoterra solution was published in a Dutch national renowned agricultural publication, Boerderij. 

Recently, the Sensoterra solution was published in a Dutch national renowned agricultural publication - Boerderij - a Dutch magazine specialized in agribusiness and technology. Sensoterra was selected as one of the solutions for the new challenges faced by growers when expanding their business or dealing with different soil moisture measurement systems. Sensoterra was measured side-by-side with three other sensor providers which, among them, Sensoterra is cited as a great choice to support growers when making crucial decisions in the field.

Automated systems have been increasingly dominating the precision agricultural scene as a tool to support craftsmanship work. Furthermore, farms and companies are growing at a level where farmers can’t administrate each plot by themselves or when the plots are distributed at greater distances. Indeed, sensors - as an advice system - have the advantage of providing site/parcel-specific soil moisture details to improve irrigation decisions.

The article also touches on LoRa connectivity and operation. Considering this, KPN has been managing its national LoRa network. One of the big benefits from LoRa is that once the SIM card is inserted, the power consumption is low and it has a range of up to 15 km.

Sensoterra and AppsforAgri have established a partnership in SmartFarm initiative - to develop apps combined with weather-data operations to supply growers with up-to-date information from sensor readings, envisaging yield increase with more growth and smarter use of water.
