Water is a dealmaker for the Sustainable Development Goals, and for the health and prosperity of people and planet. But our progress on water related goals and targets remains alarmingly off track, jeopardizing the entire sustainable development agenda.

The UN 2023 Water Week will take place at UN Headquarters in New York, 22-24 March 2023, co-hosted by Tajikistan and the Netherlands.

The Netherlands and Tajikistan, as co-hosts of the Conference, are striving to make the Conference a watershed moment for the world. The goal of the conference is to ensure water is valued and managed better for concerted action to achieve the internationally agreed water-related goals and targets, including those contained in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Relevant stakeholders, including non-governmental organisations, civil society organisations, academic institutions, the scientific community, the private sector and philanthropic organisations, and other actors, whose work is relevant to the UN 2023 Water Conference, will be able to request registration to participate as observers in the Conference and in its preparatory meeting on 25 October 2022. The President of the UN General Assembly will be holding this one-day preparatory meeting, at United Nations Headquarters in New York, to finalize the themes for the interactive dialogues and other outstanding organisational matters of the Conference.

Sensoterra will join the New York Water Week as part of the Dutch delegation, and will participate in panel sessions, as well as side events, and solution workshops for managing water.
